2026-June Nationswide Traffic Collisions

11/07/2026

🚨 Behind every number are lives cut short, worried families, and long recovery journeys… According to data published by the Turkish National Police Traffic Department, 61,277 traffic collisions occurred across Türkiye in June 2026. In these collisions, 196 people lost their lives and 39,658 people were injured. In addition, 2,315,984 traffic penalties were issued nationwide. 📊🚗

Among the contributing factors in fatal and injury traffic collisions, drivers accounted for 90.4%, while pedestrians accounted for 7.6%. The leading driver-related factor, with a share of 35.5%, was failing to adjust vehicle speed to road, weather, and traffic conditions. 🛣️🌧️ When collision types were examined, side-impact collisions ranked first at 36%, followed by rollover, skidding, and overturning collisions at 15.9%.

These figures once again show that road safety is not only about knowing the rules; it is about maintaining safe behaviour on every journey. Let us adjust our speed to the conditions, maintain a safe following distance, avoid rushing at junctions, wear seat belts in every seat, and always protect vulnerable road users. 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🏍️

🤝 A small precaution in traffic can make the greatest difference in someone's life.
💛 Let no more lives be lost.
